Who we are
This website is run by Alpha Kaye Construction Management Limited, trading as AKCM, registered in England and Wales with company number 16376842. Our registered office is 9 Worton Park, Cassington, Witney, Oxfordshire OX29 4SX. We decide how the personal data described here is used, which makes us its controller. For anything on this page, write to alex@akcm.co.uk.
Visiting the site
The site sets no cookies and has no analytics, tracking, scripts or forms. The font and the map are stored on the site itself, so your browser asks no one else for them.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver each page and protect the site from attack, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the details of your request. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site running and secure.
If you follow the OpenStreetMap credit under the map, its own privacy terms apply.
When you email us
If you write to us, we hold your name, your email address and whatever you put in the message. If you become a client, we also keep later correspondence and records of the work.
We use this to answer you and, if you instruct us, to do the work and invoice for it. Our lawful bases are:
- legitimate interests, for replying to enquiries and keeping a record of them;
- contract, for work you instruct us to do and the talks before it;
- legal obligation, for the records that tax and company law require us to keep.
You don't have to send us anything, but we can't reply without your email address.
Who else sees it
Cloudflare hosts the site and our email provider carries and stores our email. Our accountant and other professional advisers see client records where they need to, and we give information to HMRC or other authorities when the law requires it.
Cloudflare and our email provider may handle data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure it is covered by UK adequacy regulations or approved contract terms, and can give you details.
How long we keep it
We delete enquiries that don't lead to work two years after our last contact. We keep client records for six years after the work ends, for tax and in case of legal claims, then delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or limit how we use it. Where we hold data you gave us under a contract, you can ask for it in a form you can pass to someone else. Some rights depend on why we hold the data; we will tell you if one doesn't apply.
You also have the right to object to our using your data where we rely on legitimate interests. If you object, we will stop unless we have compelling grounds to carry on or need the data for a legal claim.
To use any of these rights, write to alex@akcm.co.uk. We will reply within one month and won't charge you.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, tell us first and we will try to put it right. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
